How Much is Entertainers Insurance?

There are two entertainers insurance policies you can choose from—an annual policy or an event policy. An annual policy is active for one year – with annual or monthly payment options. Annual starts at $199 one time, or $14.93 monthly for 12 months. The annual policy is ideal for entertainers who perform year round and need constant coverage. The event policy is active for 1–3 days and starts at $59. If you are performing for a single event or a weekend, the event policy will be just right for you. There are options to add additional insurance limits to this policy to meet your venue’s requirements. Keep in mind that these prices are the cost for the base policies and you can add additional coverages to your policy at an extra cost.

Do You Need Entertainers Insurance?

To put it simply, yes. While a venue does carry insurance, your personal property will not be covered in the event of a claim. If there is a claim that lists you or your group, you will also not have coverage from the venue. It is important to carry your own insurance, to protect your bottom line. As an entertainer, you can be held liable if illnesses, injuries, or damages are caused by your business operations to the venue or attendees. Claims from incidents like these could sweep away your entire business. Having insurance provides a financial safety net so that if an accident occurs, you won’t have to pay hefty out-of-pocket costs.

What Are Common Risks That Entertainers Face?

A common claim entertainers and performers face is a party guest tripping on their equipment. If they trip on your speaker cords and sustain an injury, you can be held responsible for any medical bills because of failure to maintain a safe environment. If your sound equipment or instruments sustain damage during an event – from spilled refreshments or an accident from an attendee, tools & equipment coverage can come in handy to help you replace your tools of the trade! This is an optional coverage that you can add to your base policy. And finally, if your equipment damages the venue’s property, like scratching the hardwood floor, you can be held liable to fix the damage caused. With insurance, you wouldn’t need to pay for all of these expenses out of your own pocket. You would be able to file a claim and have professional assistance.

Is My Equipment Covered?

When filling out an annual online application, you can add Tools & Equipment Coverage to your base annual policy. This coverage ranges from an additional $3.33–$5 to your annual policy and can cover up to $5,000 per item. The Tools & Equipment Coverage is designed to cover your business personal property like equipment, supplies, or inventory. However, it does not cover structural property, like a building. The entertainers’ event policy is not eligible for Tools & Equipment coverage.

Can You Cancel Your Policy at Any Time?

Yes. You may cancel your entertainer insurance policy at any time, but there is no money back guarantee on months you have already paid for.

What Will You Need to Fill Out an Online Application?
