General Liability
General Liability Aggregate Limit (total per policy period): $2,000,000
General Liability Occurrence Limit (total per claim): $1,000,000
General liability insurance for DJs covers injury and property damage claims involving third parties — aka people and property that are not you or yours. For example, a client trips over your extension cord and breaks his wrist, or you accidentally scratch the venue’s dance floor while setting up your mixing table.
Equipment & Gear Coverage (Inland Marine Insurance)
Limit Per Policy: $2,000 / $5,000 (Optional +$7.50 / $15 per month)
Equipment and Gear Coverage is an optional add-on to your policy designed to protect your speakers, turntables, mixers, lights, and other essential items. If your gear gets damaged or stolen, this coverage can help pay to repair or replace it.
Personal & Advertising Injury
Limit Per Policy: $1,000,000
Personal and advertising injury insurance covers claims involving things like defamation, false advertising, or copyright infringement. For instance, say your logo looks a lot like a local band’s logo, and they sue you for copyright infringement. Insurance Canopy can cover the cost of legal fees and damages in cases like this.
