With craft business insurance from Insurance Canopy, you’re free to share your creativity wherever inspiration takes you. Get covered today and let your craft shine at every event.
How Much Does Craft Vendor Insurance Cost?
Craft insurance for vendors starts at $49 per event and includes instant proof of insurance with free, unlimited additional insureds. It’s the perfect plan for vendors who need quick, affordable one-day coverage so they can sell their crafts at art shows, festivals, or markets.
Our annual plan starts at $279 per year and includes both general and product liability coverage. You get continuous protection for an unlimited number of events and your online sales. The total cost may vary based on the limits and coverages you choose.
Crafter Insurance for Events vs Annual
If you only sell at a few craft shows each year, an event policy gives you short-term coverage for individual events. If you’re a regular on the market circuit or you need product insurance, too, an annual policy keeps you covered all year — no matter how many events you attend.
Craft Show Insurance
- 1-90 day policy options
- Short-term general liability
- Instant coverage for single events
- Tools and Equipment coverage available
- Does NOT include product liability
Annual Craft Insurance
- General liability coverage
- Includes product liability insurance
- Covers an unlimited number of events
- Other add-on coverages available
- Automatically renews each year
Crafters Insurance Coverage Options
Creative business owners face risks as unique as their crafts. A spilled candle, a tripped customer, or a cracked display piece can turn into costly claims. Vendor insurance helps cover those costs so you can focus on creating. Get customized protection for your craft with add-ons like:
- Tools and Equipment Coverage (Inland Marine): Helps pay to repair or replace your tools, supplies, or inventory if damaged or stolen
When you opt for an annual policy, you can also add:
- Cyber Liability: Helps with recovery costs if your online store or payment system suffers a data breach or cyberattack
- Professional Liability: Designed to protect you from claims tied to advice or demonstrations you give during classes or workshops
With Insurance Canopy’s top-rated insurance and affordable coverage options, you can focus on your craft — not the “what ifs.”
- Instant online coverage in under 10 minutes
- Immediate access to your certificate of insurance (COI)
- Protection tailored for artists, crafters, and makers
- 24/7 access to your policy
- Event and annual policies available
FAQs About Artisan Insurance
What type of insurance do crafters need?
Crafters need general liability insurance to sell their handmade products at markets, fairs, and events. This type of business insurance helps cover the cost of injuries or property damage caused by your business activities. Most craft vendors choose vendor insurance, a short-term general liability policy designed for individual events.
If you run a craft business year-round or sell online, you may also need product liability insurance, which protects you from claims related to the items you make and sell. Insurance Canopy offers this coverage through an annual craft business policy.
What does crafters insurance cover?
Crafters insurance covers third-party claims of bodily injury or property damage. If your business operations cause someone to get hurt or damages their property, your insurance helps cover the expenses like medical bills, repairs, and legal defense costs.
What crafter insurance limits do I need?
Most crafters choose general liability insurance limits of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate. These limits are typically required by markets, fairs, and festivals to cover accidents that cause injury or property damage.
You may need higher liability limits for high-end venues with large attendance. Insurance Canopy makes it easy to customize your coverage for your event type, including adding excess liability limits.
Do events require crafters to have a COI and Additional Insured?
Most events require craft vendors to have a Certificate of Insurance (COI) and be listed on your policy as an additional insured. This protects the venue from risks associated with your business and shows event organizers that you’re financially prepared to handle any accidents.
When you buy a policy with Insurance Canopy, you’ll get instant access to your COI and can add additional insureds anytime. We’ll even send your proof of insurance directly to event organizers, so you can focus on setting up your booth.
Is craft insurance coverage available in all 50 states?
Yes, craft insurance with Insurance Canopy is available in all 50 states. Our nationwide coverage protects your business activities, whether you’re selling your crafts locally or traveling to another state.
Still have questions regarding our policies? Feel free to reach out to our licensed insurance agents. We are available Monday through Friday from 8am–8pm ET.
