Zumba instructor insurance is designed to help Zumba teachers pay for liability claims of bodily injury or property damage. This can include coverage for medical bills and legal fees. Zumba insurance can also help you pay to replace or repair your gear if it is stolen or damaged. This can include portable speakers, risers, mats, and toning sticks.
Zumba liability insurance plans start at just $12.50 a month, or you can save 14% with an annual policy for $129 a year. Our base policy includes general and professional liability insurance. You can even add on our optional coverage for your gear and equipment for just $16.
The price of your policy may vary based on several different factors, such as your yearly income, claims history, and any additional coverages you select. We are proud to insure full time, part-time, and student instructors under our policy.
Yes! Studies show 1 in 4 Zumba participants are injured during their classes, and that responsibility falls on you as the teacher. Without insurance, you would be left paying for the costs of accidents all on your own.
Many health and fitness centers require instructors to carry insurance, and some studios include it in rental contracts. Insurance Canopy can help you meet or exceed most Zumba insurance requirements and open the door to new teaching locations.

Zumba instructors need General and Professional Liability insurance to help them in the case of accidental bodily injury or property damage. Most studios, gyms, private facilities, or public spaces require fitness instructors to carry these types of liability insurance coverages on a Zumba insurance policy.
Most Zumba instructors teach in gyms, rent out studio space, use community centers, or even teach at colleges or corporate offices. If someone taking your class were to accidentally trip and knock over a stack of step decks that break a mirror or window, you would be responsible for paying for the repairs. Damage to Premises Rented to You is a coverage designed to help you pay those costs.
Medical Expense coverage is especially important when you have a student injured during a class and they are making you pay for their medical bills. If someone who needs surgery, physical therapy, requires medication, or needs medical assistance, this policy can help you cover those expenses.
Many Zumba instructors like to provide their own speakers, mats, resistance bands, or weights for their students, especially if you teach in more than one location and teach students who are not as familiar with Zumba. Gear and Equipment coverage, also known as Inland Marine insurance, is designed to help protect this type of gear. If your stuff is accidentally damaged during a class or stolen from your vehicle, we can help you cover the cost of repairing or replacing these item.s
You may also need Cyber Liability insurance if you take any form of electronic payments, manage your own website, or store customer information online. Cyber attacks and phishing scams can target your business in order to get ahold of private information about your business, steal private customer information, or access your banking information.
If you offer any sort of wellness advice as part of your services, such as recommending vitamins and supplements or creating meal plans, then we recommend Dietitian & Nutritionist coverage. You never know if someone could have an allergic reaction to a protein powder you recommend, or suffer from malnutrition by following a dietary plan from you.
Instructors who sell their own fitness or Zumba products, let clients rent or borrow equipment, or provide additional tools for class use can benefit from the protection of Product Liability insurance. If someone is injured or property is damaged while using a product you supplied, you could be held responsible. This policy can help you cover the costs of most product liability claims we see.
Personal & Advertising Injury insurance is a policy designed to help you defend yourself in cases of libel or slander, copyright, invasion of privacy, and wrongful entry or eviction. If you take another instructor’s advertising idea, say or publish false information about another Zumba instructor, or wrongfully accuse and evict a Zumba instructor out of your business and building, then this policy could help you pay for the expenses to legally defend yourself.
You can find all of these coverage options through Insurance Canopy. Our policies include some of the highest limits for the lowest prices around.
Yes, many property owners require tenants to carry their own insurance policy. This helps to insure your business activities and help cover accidents that are a result of your operations.
You may also be required to include your studio as an additional insured on your policy. Adding an additional insured means you are extending your coverage to another person or organization who could be named in a claim caused by your business.
You can add property management, gyms, businesses, and even studios to your Zumba fitness instructor insurance policy. Additional insured status cannot be used for a co-worker or friend to receive coverage. Each instructor must purchase their own liability policy.
Adding one additional insured to your policy is $15, and adding an unlimited amount of additional insureds is $30. You purchase and add additional insureds during the application process.
General Liability insurance is coverage for accidents or damages that occur as a result of your business operations. Most claims are slip-and-fall incidents, such as someone tripping over a rug and breaking an ankle or even knocking an unattended water bottle off a table and onto your computer.
Professional Liability insurance is coverage for injuries or damages that occur as a result of the services your business provides paying customers. For example, you instruct your class to perform a certain dance move and someone pulls a muscle in their knee. Or, you suggest using resistance bands for more of a workout and a student who does not know how to use one ends up hurting themselves.
