Do You Need a DJ Event Policy or DJ Annual Policy?

Table of Contents

DJ mixing at party

Insurance Canopy provides multiple DJ insurance policies to fit your business’ needs. Whether you’re looking for DJ insurance for one day or for an entire year, we have you covered. At Insurance Canopy, you can purchase a DJ event policy or an annual policy. Today we’ll explain the differences between the two so you know which policy is best for you.

DJ Event Policy

The DJ event policy is available for $59 and is active for 1–3 days. If you need excess liability insurance at the request of your venue, this is available for an additional $50. This policy is best suited for those who are playing one show at a wedding or corporate event for one day, or are playing at a weekend-long event.

The DJ event policy includes general liability insurance and has a general aggregate limit of $2,000,000. The DJ event policy is perfect if you’re looking for DJ insurance for one day and need general liability insurance.

DJ Annual Policy

The DJ annual policy starts at $199 per year and is active for one year. You can pay the full price upfront, or you can pay just $16 a month. This plan is more flexible allowing you to be covered throughout the full year, no matter how many gigs you book! Plus, with the annual policy, there are more options open to your small business including cyber liability or tools and equipment coverage.

If your venue is requesting excess liability above the general liability limits, you can add excess liability to your policy. This increases your limits in coverage to $1,000,000 which is required by some venues based on risk assessments. If you require a limit higher than $1,000,000 you can call and speak with our agents who will build you a custom policy.

Next, cyber liability insurance. This is great coverage for our businesses – as we are so much in the digital world. We process payments on our phones, through our emails, or through online payment processors. If you store any customer information including payment or personal details, your business could be at risk of being a target for cyber criminals. This added coverage to your base policy can give you peace of mind and will be there to help if your business is targeted.

With the DJ annual policy, you are also given the option to purchase Tools & Equipment Coverage. This coverage can protect your equipment if damaged or stolen. For example, if a guest at your event spills their drink on your DJ equipment, you can have coverage to replace your equipment. The cost for Tools & Equipment Coverage ranges from an additional $3.33–$5.

DJ Insurance Application

Filling out an application is quick, easy, and can be done in less than 10 minutes. When filling out an application for either of these DJ insurance policies, you will need to provide some information. You’ll need to fill out your personal information (name, email address, mailing address, etc.) and some business information (business activities, event description, claims history, etc.).

You can also add additional insureds to your policy for an extra $5. If you don’t have the additional insured’s information when filling out your application, you can log on to your dashboard later at any time to add it to your policy.
